Modified Bitumen is a type of asphalt roofing, that is made from asphalt and other rubber modifiers and solvents.
A reliable roof system
Modified Bitumen Roof System has an excellent track record of reliability. Since it is common for North Central Florida to experience severe weather such as hurricanes, heavy rains, and strong winds – Modified Bitumen Roof Systems offer excellent protection from Mother Nature’s wrath.
Benefits of Modified Bitumen Roof Systems
- Weather resistant
- Easy to repair
- Flexible membrane
Typically Modified Bitumen Roof Systems are installed on commercial low-slope or flat roofs. Modified Bitumen roofing membranes can be torch-applied, mop-applied, or applied with adhesives. Self-adhesive membranes combine modified bituminous waterproofing compounds with a self-adhesive bituminous layer for an easy application process. The self-adhesive layer of the membrane is protected with a release film, which is removed during installation. Advantages of a self-adhering roofing system are the ease of application, and it also requires less equipment necessary to complete the project. A standard Modified Bitumen Roof Systems is a two-ply system, where the rolled membrane overlaps the edge of the previous roll.
